Born and raised in China, Jimmy studied at the Music School attached to Central Conservatory of China — one of the nationwide, prestigious programs. In 2011, he moved to Oberlin, Ohio and completed the high school, undergraduate and graduate studies in the United States.
In 2017, Jimmy has relocated to Washington D.C. during his graduate studies and started his own teaching studio. His fellow students have made to NYO2 two years in a roll and won principal chairs in Maryland All-State auditions and first prizes in competitions in DMV region.
Jimmy is the bassoon teacher at the Levine and the adjunct professor at the College of Southern Maryland. He is passionate to work with students from all age groups and background in a closed and friendly environment and with a respectful manner.
